Originally a graphic designer, Chris now works as a full time painter from his studio in Bedfordshire. His paintings depict atmospheric scenes featuring the character Garfield and his faithful Jack Russell Barton Darcy. Most recently he has been joined by a female companion. Many come with humorous 'ditties' - four line poems about the world as the dog sees it, evolving from the annotations of Chris' initial sketches. He paints in oil on wooden panels and is inspired by artists such as Paul Sample, Ralph Steadman and Sam Toft.
Having exhibited locally in Olney, Woburn and London, his work has also been published as greetings cards and limited edition wall art and we are pleased to be exhibiting Chris' original paintings in the gallery.
