Sally Tyrie creates mixed media drawings and paintings, working primarily with printmaking and mixed media collage.
The starting points to her work are varied, with recurring themes and influences including natural history, personal history and the environment. Mark making and process play a central role in her work and she often seeks out
unconventional surfaces to work with as a way of adding
metaphor and meaning to the work.
Initially studying Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University, Sally’s passion for printmaking developed whilst she was studying for her MA at the University of Hertfordshire where she graduated in 2008. Since then she has exhibited regularly and her work can be found in a number of galleries and private collections across the country.
