FEBRUARY

 

Sat 2nd Feb: Acrylics with Palette Knife on Canvas. 

Working from a still life subject, learn the basics of palette knife painting. With Kate. 11-2pm £40pp

 

Sun 3rd Feb: Winter Landscapes, in Oils on Canvas.

Working from photographs, paint a winter wonderland in oil paints. With Sarah. 11-2pm £40pp

 

Sat 16th Feb: Lino print with Chine-Colle.

Combining your own linocut print with collage, learn this fun technique for beginners in our table top printing session.

With Emmeline. 11-1pm *lunch break* 1.30-3.30pm £60pp

 

Sat 16th Feb: Beginners Fused Glass. 

With Maggie Barton in her Pirton Studio. Create your own fused glass panel (approx 15x15cm).

Leave it with Maggie to fire in the kiln, and collect from the gallery a week later. 11-1.30pm £50pp

 

Fri 22nd Feb: Observational Drawing. 

Working from a variety of still life objects, learn some basic drawing techniques. With Sarah.  2-4pm £12.50pp

 

Sat 23rd Feb: Intro to Pointillism.

Working from a fruity themed still life, learn how to construct your composition and ‘point’ away with acrylic paints. With Kate. 11-2pm £40pp

 

Sun 24th Feb: Starry Night.

Inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting - create your own version, step by step

using acrylic paints on canvas. Suited for complete beginners, with Emmeline. 11-2pm £40pp

 

 

MARCH

 

Sat 2nd March: Lino Printing for Beginners. 

The Faces of Picasso is the theme; design, cut and print your first lino print in this fun table top session. With Emmeline. 11-2pm £40pp

 

Sun 3rd March: Monet’s Sunrise. 

Acrylic painting on canvas for beginners, with step by step instruction to guide you through from start to finish. With Kate. 11-2pm £40pp

Sat 23rd March: Cezanne’s Fruits. 

Focusing on the masterful colours and brushstrokes of Cezanne, create your own painting from a still life composition of apples.

Sun 24th March: Picasso in Collage. 

Based on the works of Pablo Picasso. A fun and playful session using handmade collage papers.

Leave with a colourful, framed work of art. Suited for beginners. With Kate. 11-2pm £40pp

 

Sat 30th & Sun 31st March: A Weekend of Botanicals.

Day 1: A three hour session. Working from observation, draw plants and flowers in a range of mediums. 11-2pm

Day 2: Using your drawings from Day 1 as a reference, along with plants and flowers; construct your composition,

and learn to paint with oils on canvas. With Sarah. 11-3pm £80pp

 

 

APRIL

 

Sat 6th April: Beyond Realism.

Working from a landscape photograph; learn the skills to transform the scene into a colourful abstract composition.

A painting workshop using a small variety of mediums. With Emmeline. 11-2pm  £40pp

 

Sunday 7th April: Watercolours for Fun.

An introduction to this fast moving medium, compose a floral spring themed painting. With Emmeline. 11-2pm £35pp

 

Friday 19th April: Observational Drawing. 

Working from a variety of still life objects, learn some basic drawing techniques. With Sarah. 2-4pm £12.50pp

 

Sat 20th April: Beginners Fused Glass.

Saturday 27th April: Forage & Draw.

A day of Foraging & Drawing. Start your day with a walk over Oughton Head (weather permitting). Learn what’s safe to eat and what’s best to leave behind.

With Jane Simmons -The Hitchin Forager. After lunch - sharpen your pencils for observational drawing skills based on your finds.

Using a range of mediums on paper, and introducing colour. With Sarah 11-3pm £55pp

 

Sunday 28th April: Spring Tulips in Oils.

A beginners oil painting session on canvas. Working from still life and photographs. With Sarah. 11-2pm £40pp

 

 

MAY

 

Sat 4th & Sun 5th May: Bluebell Extravaganza Weekend

A weekend workshop with Kate, looking at Hitchwood Bluebells. Suited for beginners,

this workshop will introduce you to using a range of different art mediums over two days.

Day 1 (Sat): Coloured Pencil & Watercolour

Day 2 (Sun): Mixed Media incorporating Collage and Paint

11-2pm each day - £80 for the weekend.

An acrylic painting session on canvas, inspired by the works of Mary Feddon. With Kate. 11-2pm £40pp
